Talie Helene is an experienced editor of fiction, as the Horror Editor for The Year’s Best Australian Fantasy & Horror series, published by Ticonderoga Publications, one of Australia’s most important independent presses. The fantasy portion of the books are edited by Liz Grzyb. This annual compilation of the best fantasy and horror, covering work produced by Australian and New Zealand writers, collects over 150,000 words of fiction from the genre’s best and most awarded writers. For her editing Talie has received numerous award nominations, and has won an Aurealis Award as editor in the category of Best Anthology.

Ticonderoga Publications is thrilled to announce the contents of the inaugural ‘The Year’s Best Australian Fantasy and Horror’ anthology.
2010 was a great year for Australian fantasy and horror, with the World Science Fiction convention held in Melbourne serving as an impetus for many publishers, both large and small, to showcase the breadth and depth of Australian and New Zealand speculative fiction. Several hundred fantasy and horror stories by Antipodeans were published in 2010, contained in Australasian and international magazines, webzines, anthologies and collections. From this plethora of work, editors Liz Grzyb and Talie Helene have selected 33 tales of fantasy, dark fantasy, horror and paranormal romance for this volume.
