There is nothing more satisfying for an engineer/record producer than the honour of being trusted with an artist’s dream, and through hard work and creativity (and coffee) bringing that vision into reality. Of course, once the journey of making an album is finished, then the artists embark on a quite different adventure of performance and promotion to bring their music to the punters. I’m always delighted by watching the albums I’ve co-created with artists go out into the world, and become success stories.

All styles of music are welcome at Toyland, valued on their merit, and approached with the correct techniques and gear to achieve a distinctive sound reflecting the personality of the band or solo artist. These are five recent Toyland success stories – all very different, all great albums – the world of music lovers and audiophiles seem to be enjoying listening to them, every bit as much as I enjoyed making them.
